About this book
The dominant alpha alien Prince Kozus has chosen me as his personal translator. What could go wrong?
Prinze Kozus is an Aegir warlord. That means he’s big, he’s blue, and he’s dangerous. His sharp claws and even sharper horns are lethal weapons.
And the masculine brute wants me to be his assistant.
No way.
The alien prince is not impressed by my protests.
Aegir warlords always get what they want, he tells me.
And this hot warlord wants me.
While I’m trying to fend off the demanding alien brute, I stumble upon a dark secret that changes everything.
Can Prince Kozus and I stop fighting long enough to save both our species?
ALIEN BRUTE is the thrilling conclusion to the Warlords of Aegir series! Don’t miss Sasha’s & Kozus’s story!
Chapter 1
Sasha
The ominous black Aegir castle turns into a speck in the distance as the wooden carriage takes us further and further away from Olivia and Xak. And then the bony horses turn the corner, and it’s gone, replaced by a view of the distant, snowy mountain peaks.
The six-legged beasts trod slowly through the winding, treacherous mountain paths, the sounds of their hooves the only thing penetrating the tense silence in the carriage.
It’s just me, Ciara, and a gigantic and gorgeous Aegir here in this cramped space. The massive deep blue alien takes up half the carriage, his horns nearly scraping against the high ceiling.
He’s so different from Xak. Xak was scarred, beast-like, savage. Kozus reminds me more of those ancient marble statues. He’s hewn to perfection. His jaw is chiseled, his shoulders broad, his forearms veiny. The black form-fitting armor he’s wearing leaves nothing to the imagination — I can count every single ab he’s got. He’s a bit too perfect for my taste, actually. Even his long black hair is shiny, and his eyes are a crystal clear blue that seem to peer deeply into my soul.
I turn my gaze away and stare out the window instead, ignoring the heat rushing to my cheeks. This moment will be over soon. A shuttle will take us to The Banks, and then I won’t have to deal with aliens for a long time. I’m happy for Olivia, but I long to be back on familiar ground.
“I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced yet,” the alien says as he lowers his horns to us in greeting. “They call me Kozus. I am the High Prince of Kar.”
His voice is a low grumble, and as smooth as silk at the same time. The kind of voice you can just close your eyes to and let it whisk you away.
“Ciara! Nice to meet you!”
“Sasha,” I answer and I offer the prince my hand.
He looks at me quizzically.
“Human greeting,” I explain. “You’re supposed to shake it.”
He grabs my hand with his big blue claws the size of dinner plates, and shakes my entire arm up and down. “Like so?”
“Good effort, but not exactly.” I say. Is this really the best diplomat the Aegir could find?
Ciara can barely hold back her laughter. “Let us show you how it’s done!”
“Good idea.” I turn to Ciara and offer her my hand. To my surprise, she leans in and kisses both my cheeks. I wasn’t expecting that — nor am I a big fan of people getting all up in my space — so I sit there, stunned.
“That’s how we say hi in our family!” She exclaims.
“Interesting approach. I will try this inventive new greeting method,” Kozus says.
Before I have a chance to protest, Kozus grabs both my shoulders in his strong grip and the imposingly tall warrior leans over me.
I look up at him, my heart suddenly in my throat as his musky scent envelops me.
His clear blue eyes stare into my soul, the outside world fading away in an instant. His forked tong wets his thick, perfectly shaped lips in anticipation.
I didn’t sign up for this — but I’m powerless to stop him.
Kozus leans in. His hot lips kiss my right cheek, and then my left.
The moment he touches me, a shiver runs down my spine, as a strange feeling takes hold of my entire body. It’s the feeling of waking up on Saturday morning, with the whole weekend in front of you. The feeling of freshly brewed coffee and delicious croissants for breakfast, with strawberries dipped in chocolate on the side because why not? This is my perfect daydream, and my perfect daydream calls for strawberries dipped in freaking chocolate.
It’s like that feeling, times ten. I want to freaking soak in this feeling, while sipping champagne, naked from head to toe. Preferably with those strong, hot, perfect lips of that Aegir prince somewhere down south…
“Sasha?”
Kozus’s growl calls me back to attention. I open my eyes. Him and Ciara are both staring at me.
“Yes?” I say.
“Are you hurt?” He asks. “You were moaning.”
Moaning?! That’s embarrassing.
“You must have misheard,” I stammer. “We must have hit a bump in the road. Or something.”
“No girl, that man’s right,” Ciara says. “You were moaning. Like, deep, guttural, kinda sexy even. Bravo.”
“Whose side are you on?!” I hiss to my friend.
“The side of true love — this has been thoroughly established Sasha, try to keep up, will ya?”
I look back up at Kozus. He still has his hands on my shoulders, and his lips seem to glisten. They’re beckoning me. Tempting me.
What the frick?!
I back away and curl up in the corner of the carriage, as far away from this brute as possible. Which is not very far.
“Uhm, so that’s human greetings good luck you’ll do great,” I rattle on. “No more questions.”
Ciara shakes her head. “No, we can’t end it there. Now he’ll try to kiss Captain Haas! Kozus — stick to handshakes. Like this!”
My red-headed friend practices shaking hands with the Aegir prince. And she doesn’t devolve into whimpering and moaning while doing it, either.
Did the prince hypnotize me? Or was it something… deeper? I have to call Olivia as soon as possible — she can tell me more. She’s dating one of these aliens, if anyone knows what just happened, it’s her.
I turn my attention away from the chatting pair and look out the window. The shuttle’s in sight. Good. I can’t wait for this moment to be over.
Kozus
What strange, lovely, captivating creatures these human females are. I can see why Xeer Malak has fallen for Emma. And now even the gruff Xak has taken a human mate!
I cannot blame them. The humans are absolutely gorgeous. Especially this one, with her dark skin and black curls, her wide, captivating laugh and mesmerizing brown eyes. Sasha is her name.
It rolls of the tongue easily. The kind of name you can growl passionately.
Sasha. Drop your panties. It’s time for your reward.
Blood rushes down to where it shouldn’t go, for my form-fitting dun armor hides nothing. This is not the time for fantasies. I must remain in control.
It was easier to control my primal instincts before I kissed Sasha’s soft cheeks, before her alluring scent primed all of my neurons.
Malak has entrusted me with this important mission: Welcome the human colony ship, and extend them an invitation to settle on Aegon. I must not let anything get in the way of that.
The carriage slows down to a halt. I exit the vehicle, my boots sinking into the deep, pristine snow. The fresh mountain air fills my lungs and a sense of calm washes over me. These will be my last few breaths of Aegon air for a while. Better make them count.
I help Ciara step out the carriage, for the drop is not made for humans and their small statures. I offer my hand to Sasha next, but her brown eyes are filled with indignation.
“I don’t need your help, Aegir,” she says.
Sasha steps out, misjudges the drop, and lands face down in the cold snow. I pick her up as Ciara laughs, and brush the snow off her shoulders.
“You are too proud, human,” I say.
“Let me go,” she protests, her legs and arms flailing wildly.
A part of me does not want to let her go. A part of me enjoys the feeling of holding her in my hands, sensing her heat even through the many layers of clothing adorning her soft, supple human body. But, I do as she wishes.
“After you.”
The two humans walk towards my ship. I wait for a moment. I tell myself it is to take one last look at these sacred, jagged peaks, to savor the sound of fresh snow crunching underneath my heavy boots, to let the cool air prickle my blue skin.
But it is all a lie, for the real reason I am delaying is to watch Sasha walk away, to see her hips sway from left to right, and to adjust my cock which has become uncomfortably hard.
Her curvy body is swaddled in many layers of clothing, and yet I can picture her naked body as clear as this beautiful day.
Curious.
That is what I thought of Malak finding his fated mate in a human’s arms. A curiosity. An abnormality. I didn’t judge him for it — I am not my father — but I didn’t understand it either.
I am learning.
My fingers run through my dark hair, brushing against my horns, as I shake my head. My path has been set. My father has chosen a mate for me, as is the Kar custom. The date for the mating ceremony has been set. Invitations extended.
I have no use for these confusing feelings.
Chapter 2
Sasha
Even though we’re trudging through the thick, cold snow I’m burning up inside. The cloak feels heavy and constrictive. I glance over my shoulder and catch Kozus’s blue eyes. They snap up and look at me, and I can read the telltales signs of guilt on his chiseled, Aegir face.
The prince was checking me out.
Just my freaking luck. I am not interested, but these Aegir men don’t know when to stop. They’re predators, and when they have set their sights on something they don’t give up the chase until they’ve caught their prey.
And fucked it senseless.
That’s what Xak did to Olivia. I heard her screams. Wish I didn’t. What she wants to do in her spare time is fine by me, more power to her, but I do not want to hear that. Keep that in the bedroom. And keep your voices down so people two rooms over can’t hear.
Those are the rules I live by. Following them has been easy, because I haven’t let any man into my bedroom in a long, long time.
And I’m not about to start now, either.
Kozus has got a pretty face, you’ve got to give him that. Mesmerizing eyes. A voice as smooth as butter. The type of body built for climbing on top of.
But, he’s not for me.
I focus my eyes on the ship that’s going to take us away from this cold place. It’s needle shaped, long and thin, the metallic covering reflecting the blue sky overhead.
Doesn’t seem big enough to stay out of the alien prince’s way, though. I’m still reeling from when he lifted me up as if I were as light as a feather.
The nerve.
“Seems you’ve got a new admirer,” Ciara whispers to me. “Congratulations.”
“Please,” I shudder. “I need an Aegir following me around like a lost puppy like I need a headache right now.”
“Oh come on. You like the attention.”
“Sometimes. Maybe. But I do not like unwanted attention.”
“Is it really unwanted though?” Ciara asks, placing her finger on her chin. “Let’s see. On one hand we’ve got a gorgeous alien prince who wants to put no-doubt adorable babies inside of you…”
“How’d you get there from some light flirting?” I interject.
“You call that light? Kozus was practically eye-fucking you the entire carriage-ride. Hell, he’s eye-fucking you right this second,” Ciara says.
“You know you’re not convincing me to hop on that blue baby train right now, right?”
“We’ll get there. Olivia wasn’t either, and look at her now.”
“I’m not Olivia,” I stress.
“No, she’s way nicer,” Ciara says. “Boom roasted.”
“Walked into that one,” I say.
“You’re darn tootin’. So we’ve established that Kozus is a) hot and b) loaded. He’s a prince, after all. And on the other hand we’ve got… you.” Ciara says.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“What do you think it means?” Ciara says, flipping it back to me. “You were fine with telling Olivia to, and I quote, ‘hit that’, but I can’t do the same to you? Seems like you’ve got a stick in your bum, my friend.”
“Why are you riding my ass so hard?” I ask.
“Because you won’t let Kozus do it,” she claps back.
“Give it a rest, Ciara, please. I’m stressed enough as it is. After Xi’Jek, I need a long holiday. Peace and quiet!”
“Hold up,” Ciara says and she grabs my arm. “When we get back to the Banks, we’re still going to be friends, right?”
“Of course,” I say. “After what we survived together? We’re as tight as two peas in a pod. I do need my space though, so I hope you’re cool with that. And please, for the love of all that is holy in this world, stop it with the ribbing and the joking and the prodding. I can’t deal with that right now.”
“I’m sorry,” Ciara says. “I didn’t mean to piss you off.”
“It’s fine. Just… be a bit more quiet today, okay?”
Ciara mimics zipping her lips shut and throwing away the key.
“Humans.”
Kozus’s low growl startles me. How much of that has he heard?! I whirl around and face him, my hands clutched instinctively to my chest.
“Ready for our voyage?”
“Yes, captain,” I stammer.
He cocks his head to the side, like a confused puppy would.
“Kozus is fine, human.”
The alien wanders into the ship, and I take a deep breath to steady myself. Ciara tries to hold back her laughter, and fails.
“Don’t,” I say, raising one finger up. “Not a word.”
“Yes, captain,” she says as she salutes me. “Aye aye!”
This is going to be a long ride.
Kozus
I run my fingers along the smooth, sleek surface of the ship’s dashboard. This cruiser still has that fresh ship smell I love so much. Smells like freedom.
The human females are situated in the back of the vessel, whispering amongst themselves. I pretend not to hear them.
I run through the mandatory pre-flight checklist, checking off items one by one. Fuel gauge checked. Ran Drive functioning properly. Instruments are all in order. Parking brake is off.
I trust that the Nyrr engineers delivered me a pristine ship, but I run down the checklist all the same. It’s there for a reason. It gives me piece of mind to know everythi
ng is as it ought to be.
If only life had a similar checklist.
I suppose it does. As heir to the Kar throne, my path has been set even before I was conceived.
I have followed said path. I have done my best to make my father and our Xeerdom proud. To be the type of person our people can look up to.
I glance over my shoulder at Sasha. She’s got one finger tangled up in her curls, her legs crossed over one another as she chats with her red-headed friend. The heavy cloak she wore has been discarded, revealing a flowery tunic which accentuates her every curve.
I push a button and close the door to the cockpit, taking away the temptation.
It’s hard.
Not just my cock. No, doing the right thing is hard.
My mate has been chosen for me: Zunda Egos, the Princess of the Scourge of Egos. The date of the mating ceremony has been set.
My place is there.
And yet I volunteered for this mission, I asked Malak to be the one chosen.
A last taste of freedom. That’s what I wanted. But now, as Sasha’s curves still linger in my mind, I realize I want a whole lot more than freedom.
I want to bury my face between her legs and make her see stars.
I push these lurid thoughts to the back of my mind and take off, setting the coordinates for the human vessel.
A light on my dashboard grabs my attention. Incoming call.
“Kozus!”
Malak’s friendly face materializes in front of me in blue, holographic light. Judging by the rosy tint on his cheeks, he’s already polished off one bottle of starfruit wine I gifted him.
